The Use of Real-World Data and Evidence in Clinical Trials
Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (Tufts CSDD) and Verana Health collaborated to examine the use of real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) in clinical trials across pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) in oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, and urology. This study focused on current use cases of RWD and RWE and high impact areas of RWD in the pharmaceutical field. Other areas of investigation are challenges around using RWD and industry ideas on future directions.
